Malta Golden Visa Investment Options
- US$140,000: Malta Permanent Residency Programme (MPRP): For this programme, the investment threshold is lower, and investors receive a Maltese permanent residence permit. After five years of residence, MPRP holders also become eligible for Maltese Citizenship by naturalization.
- Malta Citizenship by Investment: The investment route which leads to Maltese citizenship is known as the ‘Citizenship by Naturalisation for Exceptional Services by Direct Investment’ programme. This programme grants investors a Maltese passport after three years of residency. There is also an expedited scheme which leads to citizenship after only one year but requires a higher investment.
The Malta Permanent Residency Programme (MPRP), leads to permanent residence in Malta, as opposed to immediate citizenship (eligible for citizenship after 5 years). It is part of the Malta Golden Visa scheme. The investment required for an MPRP is €100,000 or property purchase of at least €300,000 (Gozo/South of Malta) or €350,000 (rest of Malta)
