St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship Requirements and Procedure
Broadly speaking, there are two citizenship by investment options offered by the St Kitts and Nevis government—donation to a government-approved fund starting from USD 250,000, or a real estate purchase from an approved real estate developer starting at USD 325,000. In both cases, the investment or donation is made after the government has approved your citizenship application following the due diligence process.
Before you begin the process of obtaining St Kitts and Nevis citizenship, you must meet the required conditions. They ensure the programme remains respected worldwide and safeguard the value of your St Kitts and Nevis passport:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a clean criminal record.
- Show proof of a legal source of funds.
- Pass the government’s due diligence checks.
- Make a qualifying investment (donation or real estate).
Prior to getting citizenship approval, a thorough due diligence is carried out to verify sources of funds and the profile of the applicants. The due diligence process includes a mandatory online interview with an independent panel who assesses the sources of funds before granting the approval.
The government and legal fee are non-refundable and have to be paid before the due diligence process can begin. The major amount of payment, which relates to the donation or real estate purchase, is paid once the citizenship approval is confirmed by the St Kitts and Nevis government. The whole process, from the time of submission of the application to citizenship approval, can take between 6 to 8 months.

Culture and History:
The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a twin island country in the Leeward island chain of the Caribbean. A former British colony, St Kitts and Nevis heavily relies on tourism with volcanic mountains, beaches, and a tropical climate.
The famous annual Sugar Mas Carnival is held in January. The islands also celebrate the St Kitts Musical Festival and Culturama (Nevisian Carnival) annually, showcasing their rich heritage and culture.
Mount Liamuiga, a dormant volcano in central St Kitts formally known as Mount Misery, is the country’s highest point at 1,156 metres. Nevis Peak, often shrouded in clouds and standing at 985 metres, is the central volcanic peak of Nevis. This peak gives the island its name from Señora de las Nieves (Lady of the Snows), with the clouds resembling a snow-capped peak. St Kitts itself also gets its name from St Christopher, after Columbus himself, when the Spanish first arrived in the region.
Brimstone Hill Fortress, a UNESCO world heritage site is one of the best-preserved colonial fortifications offering panoramic views and a glimpse into the Island’s history. The Saman Tree is over 400 years old and is the largest living organism in St Kitts. It covers half an acre in the grounds of the colonial-era Romney Manor, a historical site open to the public.
The islands relied on farming sugarcane for 350 years; however, by 2005, the sugar industry had declined, leading the islands to shift their focus on tourism. There is a famous St Kitts Scenic Railway, originally built to transport sugarcane that now offers scenic tours showcasing the beauty and historical landmarks of St Kitts, highlighting the transition from an agricultural-based economy to a tourism-driven one.
St Kitts is also home to the University of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Both are respected institutions in their fields and have many alums from across North America.
Saint Kitts and Nevis has the world’s longest-running Citizenship by Investment programme with a well-regulated and reputable process. The islands’ high quality of life, rich culture, and commitment to sustainable development make it a reliable option for investors.
